Abstract
This work is included in a major research among the Mbyá-Guaraní in the frame of interdisciplinary studies initiated by investigators of Universidad Nacional de La Plata in one of the regions with the highest biodiversity of Argentina, the rainforest of the province of Misiones. The specific aim of our ethnographic approach would be principally to give an account of the relationships man-natural environment that result from particular lifestyles by means of micro-scale studies in the scope of the household unit. This methodology for the survey and register of empirical information made it possible for us to have access to a wide spectrum of meanings and values attributed to elements of the natural environment in relation to local strategies of subsistence. It is in the context of oriented practices to the solution of problems in every day life in which the ideas about the natural and social environment are inscribed and tested. These ideas are fare from being fixed and immutable, they are flexible and they admit modification or adjustment in the flow of specific activities
