Abstract

Mexico might be considerate the birthplace of the ethnomycology and one of the most advanced countries on that field. Through this publication are presented the transcriptions of the eight
conferences held in The First National Meeting of Ethnomycologist’s, which represents the prototype in the ethnomycologist science. The principal objectives of this Meeting were to join a different
mexican scientist dedicated on this area of knowledge, as well to establish strong bases for strengthen and accelerate communication, integration, investigation, teaching and divulgation of this important
science among the social groups interested on it, to penetrate the national ethnobiology into the international debate in order to broaden its horizons. These studies mention the origins, predecessors
and founders; mexican real situation as well as the world’s. Simultaneously the methods used until present times, along with recommendations for its improvements, offering some useful elements for
the analysis and discussion of their probable projections, pointing out some views about the academic background of ethnomycologists. Facing globalization process in several aspects of the human activity,
including the cultural one, according with advances and ruling of mycotechnology, mycoinformatics and environmental sciences shows the great priority to accelerate investigations related with traditional
knowledge of the fungal species. Main purpose of ethnomycology in order to assume their respective social role , as well as the rest of ethnobiology.
